Last weekend Eddie and I were in San Francisco for the annual Shareholders meeting McCarthy holds. It's a 2-day meeting--pretty boring for the most part. They talk about the updates of the company, how they did the past year, what their profit was, how the projects went, they have competitions, training, etc... but that's the not-so-exciting part. The exciting part is that everyone gets to stay in a nice Marriot hotel for 2 nights, they pay for all your meals, they reimburse you for gas, your "significant other" is invited, and they'll even pay for babysitters if you have kids! Pretty cool huh?
Friday evening after a whole day of meetings Eddie and I walked around the piers in SF and ate at the Rainforest Cafe. It's an awesome restaurant. As you can see on the pictures it is a jungle inside. There are three areas; the underwater (with a whole bunch of huge and awesome fish tanks); the earth level (with real-looking animals that move and growl; there are elephants, and tigers, and snakes...), and the sky level which is upstairs (with every kind of bird imaginable). Every 30 minutes or so, there is a "storm," there is lightening and thunder and all the animals start moving and screaming....it kinda caught me off guard, haha, I jumped! We had a limit of $55/person, so Eddie and I went all out! Our bill was $100, never would we spend that much for 2 people at a restaurant! We had a huge appetizer, then Eddie had lobster, scallops, shrimp, and I had some pasta. We were gonna have dessert but we were waaay too full! I recommend going there!
The next day Eddie had meetings until noon. After the meetings we went shopping at Union Square, and ate lunch at a friendly all-American diner. That evening McCarthy closed-off the event with a dinner and party. We had a wonderful catered dinner at the hotel, and the theme of the party was "Hollywood Movie Stars." Everyone had to dress up as a movie character. Eddie and I went as Ron Burgandy and Veronica Corningstone from the movie "Anchorman" (he's a Will Farrell fan). People loved our costumes and a few wanted to take pictures with us. The evening opened up with a "red carpet" entrance, where the host asked who we were and what we were wearing. Then we had a 4-course dinner, delicious! And after there was a slide show and a dance. We had so much fun, and I got to meet a lot of the people that Eddie used to work with at his other jobs.
It was a great getaway, and we had some wonderful young women from our ward stay at our apartment and watch Laban for us. I'm looking forward to next year's party already!

The Addition to Our Home
We have an addition to our family! …And no I am NOT pregnant (knock on wood). – we have a puppy! I have wanted to get a dog for a while, but Eddie wasn’t all for it, he says they’re too messy and too much responsibility, which is true. But besides being sort of against it, he’s always trying to make me happy and started looking for ads on the Internet of people who were selling or giving away dogs; he’s the best hubby ever!
Last weekend he found an ad of a guy who was giving away 5 puppies. His female pug had gotten pregnant unexpectedly, and he couldn’t keep the dogs. When Eddie told me you can only imagine how excited I was! Pugs are so cute! But there was one condition – Eddie would be the one to name it.
He didn’t even think long before he said that the name of the dog would be Labao (for those who don’t know, Labao [or Laban in English] is a person from the Book of Mormon, and a bad person per se). I was against it at first, but sure enough, it grew on me…it’s funny and cute on a dog. I call him Labao, Labaozinho, Laban, BamBam, Pugs, and Pugster, I’m probably confusing the heck out of his little head, but he responds to all of them.
We drove 2 hours south to Lindsay, CA (kind of in between Visalia and Tulare) to look at the dogs, and we fell in love in seconds. We chose the cutest one and brought him to our home.
We got little BamBam at 5 weeks old, only weighing 1 lb. He’s tiny…so cute! He’s been loving our company, is full of energy, and loves to sleep. Pugs are not the most energetic dogs. Don’t expect a pug to play catch or Frisbee with you, he won’t move…but puppies are puppies…full of energy. He’s been biting everything and anything he can reach. Pugs also sleep an average of 14 hours a day…they’re kinda lazy, don’t you think? They are not the easiest dogs to train but it’s not impossible either. The upside is that they are sooo cute. They have those smashed in noses which makes them snore a lot; hahha, it’s hilarious. Also, they are the most friendly dogs; they love people. There is nothing that they love more (besides food) than just sitting next to you, or at your feet. They are constantly following you, they are like a shadow, so you if you think that’s annoying don’t get a pug! And my favorite…once they start recognizing your voice, when you talk to them they tilt their head to the side. ADORABLE!
Anyway, it has been an adventure. I’ve been waking up 2-3 times a night to play with him because he’s crying. I’ve also been cleaning up his bathroom duties an average of 10x a day! He’s way too young to go outside yet, collars and harnesses of his size are impossible to find, and you can’t really start potty training them until they’re about 8 weeks old. Luckily I found a miracle spray that gets rid of the stains and odor right away,; it leaves no hint. Besides that, he’s a blast! The cutest little thing!
I hope you like the photos and video!

The P90X Goal
My last post was on mine and Eddie's work-out war and I talked about our continuous bickering about working out...things are different now. I finally made a real goal, and this time it's gonna happen!
My biggest problem with working out is staying motivated, but now that won't be a problem anymore. I made a goal to myself that I am going to lose 10-15 lbs by our anniversary. I used to always say "I'm gonna try to lose weight," and now I'm saying "I WILL lose it by June 26th!" I started my workout program on March 29th and I will be done on June 26th - one day before our wedding date.
The work-out program I am using is the P90X Lean. For those who don't know anything about it, it is a 90 day DVD program with Tony Horton. It has 12 DVD's and 3 different programs you can follow: Lean, Classic, and Doubles. Lean is for building lean muscle (mostly for women), classic is for getting big, and doubles is the hardcore one for body builders. It works in a body/muscle shocking system and that's why it works so well. The DVDs include Yoga, Kenpo, Stretching, Cardio, Core, Legs & Back, Chest & Arms, Ab Ripper, and so on....
Eddie is also starting it. He started yesterday (April 5th) and is doing the Classic; it's nice because we keep each other motivated and 3 days of the week we get to work out together. When I get to the end of the program I'll post before and after pictures of us and hopefully they will be very different from each other, so....wish us good luck!
